The Chaos of Cannon

Celebrity TV show host Nick Cannon was terminated by ViacomCBS over an anti-Semitic rant on his podcast show. He has fired back with quite a lengthy statement.

“I am deeply saddened in a moment so close to reconciliation that the powers that be, misused an important moment for us to all grow closer together and learn more about one another. Instead the moment was stolen and hijacked to make an example of an outspoken black man. I will not be bullied, silenced, or continuously oppressed by any organization, group, or corporation. I am disappointed that Viacom does not understand or respect the power of the black community,” Cannon said to Deadline.

Jewish groups have also called out Nick Cannon where he ranted about anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and defended Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. He argued that we are having hate speech when it’s never hate speech, though goes on to call white people “animals that are inferior to blacks.” Hatred of whites has become his only acceptable form of bigotry apparently.

Cannon spoke out about Viacom mistreating and robbing the community for years through the underpaying talents on their biggest brands like Love & Hip Hop and Wild ‘N Out, yet publishing their support against hate speech and in support of the protests over George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. He said he has reached out to Viacom’s owner and received no response yet.

Cannon has also defended his stance in saying we need to promote unity and understanding, not spread hateful rhetoric or condone hate speech, even with his history of bashing and attacking other ethnic and religious groups. “They wanted to show me who is boss, hang me out to dry, and make an example of anyone who says something they don’t agree with,” Cannon continued.

Though we are all for supporting free speech, Cannon then goes on to blame his job loss on the oppressive and racial infrastructure of NBC. “Systematic racism is what this world was built on and was the subject in which I was attempting to highlight in the recent clips that have been circulating from my podcast,” Cannon explains. He went on to claim the “oppressive corporation” threatened and mistreated him for years.

Cannon goes on to conclude that he will be demanding full ownership of the Wild N Out brand and an apology. But wait, when will ViacomCBS be receiving an apology for Nick Cannon calling Caucasians a savage, lesser race and attacking Jewish groups?
