After the Biden Administration announced new policies to regulate firearms, Missouri Gov. Mike Parson announced the newly passed legislation to ban state law enforcement agencies from enforcing new federal gun laws. The bill, also known as the “Second Amendment Preservation Act,” will protect the Second Amendment rights of citizens to keep and bear arms in Missouri. It declares that the federal laws that infringe on those rights null.
President Biden’s policies could turn up to 4 million law-abiding gun owners into felons overnight, with initiatives that would regulate AR-15 style pistols.
The White House released a statement that: “The Justice Department, within 60 days, will issue a proposed rule to make clear when a device marketed as a stabilizing brace effectively turns a pistol into a short-barreled rifle subject to the requirements of the National Firearms Act. The alleged shooter in the Boulder tragedy last month appears to have used a pistol with an arm brace, which can make a firearm more stable and accurate while still being concealable.”
GOP lawmakers fought back against the measures, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who said Biden’s anti-gun policies went against the Second Amendment. An estimated 3-4 million AR-pistols have been sold since an assault weapons ban had been lifted under former President George W. Bush and a recent report from the National Shooting Sports Foundation said their sales have been up 40% since the Biden Administration.

Second Amendment groups and organizations have said that they are ready to protect the rights of citizens to bear arms and fight Biden’s plan to “ban ghost guns” and bar “people in crisis” from having weapons, which could lead to confiscations and court challenges.
Kelli Jones, a spokesperson for Parson, said that the bill will allow Missourians to protect themselves while acknowledging the constitutional structure of government. “The Governor is aware of the legal implications of this bill, but also that, now more than ever, we must define a limited role for the federal government in order to protect citizen’s rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution,” she said.
Rep. Jered Taylor said they have passed the bill because the Second Amendment is under attack by the Biden Administration and Democrats in Washington D.C. While it had been previously introduced in the House several times, it had been vetoed by Democrat Gov. Jay Nixon. This year it had been approved by a House vote of 111-42 and Senate vote of 22-10.
Other organizations are pushing for legislation to protect American citizens from the challenges of the Biden Administration. Erich Pratt, the senior vice president of Gun Owners of America, said that “failed gun control restrictions” never make anyone safer and only violate the constitutional rights of American citizens.
“After sitting on his hands for more than a year while rioters destroyed American cities, Joe Biden is now blaming innocent gun owners for the destructive acts of criminals,” Pratt said.
He added that lawmakers and organizations will fight Biden’s gun plans and defend gun owners, their pistol-braced firearms, do-it-yourself firearm kits, unserialized homemade firearms, and any other lawfully-purchased and constitutionally protected item.
Missouri is now the 13th state to prohibit law enforcement officials from enforcing federal gun laws that aren’t in the state books. This will ensure that the Biden Administration does not infringe on the people’s right to keep and bear arms, as guaranteed by the Second Amendment.
The left is committed to infringing on all of the citizen’s rights that they can while the right protect the federal government from stepping too far over and past authority. The government has a very limited role on purpose and is clearly defined. The Dems forget about that.
