The nonprofit ‘Biden Cancer Initiative’ that former vice president Joe Biden established two years after leaving the White House has now spent nearly two-thirds of its budget on staff compensation.

The Biden Cancer Initiative is a nonprofit that supports cancer prevention and research. According to a report from The Washington Free Beacon, the organization’s president, Greg Simon, was paid $224,539 in 2017 and $429,850 in 2018.

The salaries for the staff members alone make up 65% of its total expenditures. $4.8 million was raised over the two years the organization was in operation, and more than $3 million of that amount went to salaries, compensation, and benefits, according to the 2017 and 2018 tax forms. Another $1.7 million was spent on other expenses, including $740,000 for conferences, conventions, and meetings.

If you ask me, this “charity” is not living up to its mission if it’s spending less than a third of their budget on program expenses. Charity Navigator, a website that ranks charities for effectiveness, also pointed out that the Biden Cancer Initiative didn’t cut a single grant check to any other organization.

Many of the executives paid in the six figures value also previously worked for Obama’s Administration “Cancer Moonshot,” a program that was also created to accelerate cancer research and make therapy more accessible to patients. You could say that these people are profiting off their access to Biden, as they’ve made quite a trail behind him.

The mission on Biden’s site says the organization is to “develop and drive implementation of solutions to accelerate progress in cancer prevention, research, and care, and to reduce disparities in cancer outcomes.” Joe and Jill Biden left the organization’s board in April 2019 shortly before preparing to launch his presidential campaign. The organization then shuttered on July 11, 2019.

The president of the organization said they are suspending activities due to “unique circumstances.” They said they remain personally committed to the cause but have to pause efforts for the time-being. Fortune reported that the nonprofit had trouble maintaining “momentum” without the involvement of the Biden’s. I think they mean Biden’s checkbook. Well, at least now we know where the liberals hang out until they get a job in a new administration.

Other sources such as Associated Press also reported that the influence issues with Biden’s close ties to health care companies poses concerns. Several of the health care companies Biden touted with were operating within financial and regulatory interest.

If Biden was elected as president, we can best believe his administration will give favorable treatment to those who supported his foundations in the past. Imagine the media reaction if this was the Trump Cancer Foundation…but Eric Trump had to end his legitimate charity. Where’s the media on this story?
