It was recently announced that the Capitol police approved fencing around the U.S Capitol building in anticipation of a Saturday rally supporting the Jan. 6 riot suspects that are in custody.
The ‘Justice for J6’ Rally was organized by a group called Look Ahead America who have called those arrested at the Capitol “political prisoners.” Matt Braynard, a former Trump campaign employee and executive director of the organization, is helping put together the rally.
Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger revealed that he requested for the fence to be put back up, adding that he made the arrangements with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. House Sergeant-at-Arms William Walker said he was “reasonably concerned” about the upcoming rally and talked about the request for the fencing. They have not activated any National Guard members for the location at this time.
“The fence will go up a day or two before, and if everything goes well, it will come down very soon after,” Manger said.

The briefing came shortly after Capitol Police arrested a man with multiple knives outside the Democrat National Committee. According to the police, the man had multiple knives, along with a bayonet and machete, in his truck outside of the Democratic National Committee headquarters. His truck had swastikas and other hate symbols on it. The department said they were unclear of any connection to the upcoming rally.
The two layers of fencing finally started coming down July 8, shortly after the Jan 6. protest. Many lawmakers and D.C residents have expressed their opposition to the wall, adding that it should not be a “permanent fixture” to the nation’s capital. They pointed out the hypocrisy of Democrats wanting a symbolic fence against conservative protesters but being in complete opposition to having a border wall. Biden and his administration will put up fences to protect themselves from protesters while allowing Cartel Members, criminals, and drugs to pour across the border.
Sen. Chris Van Hollen, a Democrat, has even said there’s a “bipartisan sense” that they should not create some sort of permanent Great Wall around the Capitol of the United States. The D.C Council and Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton have also pushed the House to remove the fence, adding that it costs the government about $1.9 million a week.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki was even asked by a reporter if a fence will go up every time there’s a First Amendment demonstration. She continued to claim that the events of January 6 were an “insurrection” and that the Capitol Hill leaders are taking the steps to ensure that all members are safe. “And obviously, the events on January 6th — a terrible day in our democracy — are still fresh in their minds. So, of course, they’re going to take those steps,” Psaki adds.
The Capitol Hill members and D.C politicians will do all they can to secure and protect themselves while still turning a blind eye to those who are still stranded in Afghanistan, high crime in Dem-run cities, and a border crisis that continues to crumble by the day.
